Stan Wawrinka misses Rio Olympics 2016 : Competition dwindles

Recently came out the news of world no.3 Roger Federer missing the Olympics this year. It was at this time when the fans were trying to recoup the excitement, when came the news of Stan wawrinka, the swiss tennis player missing the Rio olympics as well. The world no. 4, Stan suffered a back injury at the Roger's cup and so has decided to withdraw from olympics.

With almost half of top ten players missing the olympics, the competition is sure going to drop. Apart from Roger Federer, Milos Raonic (Canada), Tomas Berdych (Czech) and Dominic Thiem (Austria) have also withdrawn from olympics.

One good news, perhaps is that Rafael Nadal is playing. Rafael will also compete against the two most prominent players this year, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray (both are scheduled to play on the 2nd day of olympics, 6th August). This would be the second chance for Andy Murray to score a gold medal in olympics. It sure would not be easy, but still looking through the hard work he has put in recently there are chances of him getting what he desires. Moreover, he has recently grabbed hold of the 2nd wimbledon title and so would sure be ready to tackle whatever it takes.
